Newell Factory

Miami, OK - June 10-12

After the Ozarks, we traveled 120 miles to Miami, OK, to the Newell Factory (Fancyville). Well, Miami isn't very fancy, but the Newell factory definitely is. There are brand new Newells to look at everywhere. Also, there are a few camping spots with water and electricity hook-ups for Newells that are having work done. When we arrived in the afternoon on Sunday, there were no camping sites available so we walked around to look for a place to plug in. The only place we could find was in the row of brand new Newells. So what else are we to do but go there? Dad pulled the Newell in and we were set for the rest of the afternoon and evening.

Shortly after we arrived, some other fancy coaches came in and had to park next to the bays in order to find hook ups, and we were glad we didn't have to do that. These next pictures give you an idea of what the place looks like and the absolutely stunning coaches. As Dad said as we were walking around "Father's Day is coming up!"

Yes, please!
This coach was featured on television! It was my favorite Newell there.

New Newells

Above the bed electronics. In this Newell, you can actually walk AROUND the bed to the bathroom behind.
Fancy everything
The is the bed you can walk AROUND with a TELEVISION that comes UP out of the FOOTBOARD!!!!!

After getting set up, Dad walked around and met a couple in a Quad slideout 2006 Newell owned by Neil and Carol Schopke of Florida. Neil and Dad are both engineers and started talking "Newell." Dad introduced me and even though I am a University of Tennessee graduate and Neil is a University of Florida graduate, we were still able to have an absolutely wonderful afternoon and evening with them. Carol cooked us burgers, corn, and beans while their two sweet doggies ran around. The Schopkes were having quite a lot of work done and it appeared like they were going to be at Newell for the whole week.
Around 6:30am Monday morning, our Newell was collected and driven to a bay for brake work. The Newell slipped on an incline at Lotterdale Cover a few weeks ago and that just wasn't going to be acceptable since we are heading West and could get into some very steep areas. The best part about the Newell factory is that their workers and shop managers will answer any questions you have and explain exactly what kind of work they are doing to your coach which is right up Dad's alley. Luckily, our work wasn't too extensive/expensive and was done by 10:30am.

OH! And on the way to the bay, I noticed the satellite antenna was raised, so I saved us from never watching TV again. It's always something.

After the work was done, a Newell guy parked us into a camping spot and Dad and I added some Newell attire to our collection. All in all a great trip to Newell and we continue to avoid joining the "$10,000 a Month Club."

Keep in mind..."It's always something..."
